Omar Florez

Postdoc

Omar graduated from the Industrial University of Santander in Colombia with a B.S. in Physics. Later, he moved to Brazil to do an M.S. in physics at the University of Campinas where he was working with optical fibers and micro-fibers. He moved again to Spain to pursue a PhD. in physics in the Autonomous University of Barcelona, working in the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2). During his Ph.D., Omar was working with phononic and photonic crystals as well as topological phononics and photonics systems. Outside of the office and lab, Omar enjoys traveling, eating out, and playing football.
