Hans Blomenkamp

PhD

Hans G. J. Blomenkamp studied Nanotechnology with focus on Semiconductor-Technology at the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, as a Diplom student (B.S. + M.S.). During his time there he did research on Micro-electro-mechanical systems for the detection of the antibiotic Kanamycin based on Aptamers with a Silicon dioxide-, as well as a Parylene-C-substrate at the Institute for Electronic- and Sensormaterials. He also did research on functionalization of Parylene-C-substrates to enable the printing of noble metal inks for use as electronic skins.

In 2019/2020 he did an internship at the Institute of Industrial Science at the University of Tokyo, Japan, where he focused on PBTTT-based organic field-effect transistors and protein sensors based on electro-polymerized molecularly imprinted polymers.

In 2021, he joined Columbia University as an M.S.-student in Electrical Engineering, where he focused on Micro- and Nanoelectronics. During his time in New York City, he also did an internship at Nokia of America as a Photonic Test Intern and joined the Lipson Nanophotonics group in Fall 2022.

Besides his studies and scientific research, he enjoys listening to music (Pop, RnB), singing, doing Karaoke, playing piano, reading, running and playing tennis.
