Xingchen graduated with a B. S. in Optical Engineering in 2013 and honored with "Outstanding Graduates". He received his M.Eng degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2014 from Cornell University. As an undergraduate, he worked on quantum cascade laser, tandem polymer solar cells and other optical devices' designs and simulations in key laboratory of Luminescence and Optical Information, Beijing, China. His M.Eng project was focused on low loss silicon nitride waveguide fabrication. Xingchen is now pursuing his PhD degree in electrical and Computer Engineering in the Cornell Nanophotonics Group. His research interests include optical communication, 3D photonic crystals and silicon photonics in general. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, reading, cooking, watching movies and travelling.
