Gaurang graduated from Sardar Patel University, Anand India in 2008 with a B. Eng. in Electronics followed by his M. S. degree in Silicon Photonics in 2012 from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. His research work at IIT Madras, was on dispersion and polarization studies in large cross section silicon-waveguide devices (predominantly, channel interleavers). Later, he worked as a Post-Silicon Validation Engineer at Intel India Design Center. In 2014, Gaurang joined the Cornell Nanophotonics Group as a PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests include radiative heat transfer, photonic devices and materials, nanofabrication and plasmonics. Outside research, Gaurang is an avid fan of classical music and enjoys hiking/biking trips.
